Stories in the Ordinary is...

Sorry. I know I just came back from a hiatus, and here I am, going on another one. I need another (shorter) break for two reasons:

1. School starts next week. I'm not as prepared as I'd like to be. I'm also sick with a cold, which makes preparing that much harder.

2. I would like to re-do this blog. I think many writing blogs (not all, but some) get stuck in a rut. We can only post so many analogies for writing, lessons on grammar/craft, and updates on our own WIP before having to repeat ourselves. I am guilty of all three, and I think I'm a little exhausted from riding that carousel.

I'd like to bring Stories in the Ordinary back to its roots -- finding stories in every day life, such as interactions with strangers and interesting episodes of people-watching. You don't have to be a novelist to appreciate the stories that are all around us. I'd like to make my audience less exclusive.

Any thoughts on blogging? What is the theme of your blog? Who is your audience?

Stay tuned for a potentially new blog -- at the very least, a new layout and a broader focus.
