It's time for another episode of Picture Book Day! Today's book is...

Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas

This adorably hilarious book is about four dust bunnies named Ed, Ned, Ted... and Bob. That alone made me chuckle, but the book gets better. These dust bunnies love to rhyme. "What rhymes with car?" they ask. Ed, Ned, Ted respond with, "far," "jar," and "tar," but Bob says "look!" Um, Bob... "look" doesn't rhyme with "car."

But Bob is smarter than they think. He sees something the others don't -- an approaching broom! The story continues with more rhymes and greater imminent trouble!

I loved this book. It's humorous and just so darn creative. (Dust bunnies? Who would have thought?) I love how it's educational, tying in nicely with our rhyming lesson at school, but also contains a mini plot twist. Rhyming Dust Bunnies is so fun, we had to take it away because the kindergarteners kept fighting over it!

Check it out on Amazon here!

Have you read this book or any others by Jan Thomas? Writing about dust bunnies is a unique concept -- can you think of any other books that have different, never-would-have-imagined characters or settings? Can you think of any yourself?
